Summer Skincare Routine!

Summer is officially here and, today, I thought I would share with you my skincare routine to combat shiny skin and keep skin, clear, healthy and glowing.

When washing my face I use the Visibly Clear 2 in 1 wash/clay mask. This really helps to keep my face feeling refreshed as it has an almost minty scent and feels cool on the skin. It can be used as a face wash or can be left on for 5 minutes as a mask, which I thought was pretty clever. Clay masks are really good for oily skin as they help to draw out the excess oil, dirt and any impurities in your pores!

For my summer cleanser I have started using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I have heard many good things about this cleanser so I thought I'd give it a try and so far I am loving it. It's so incredibly gentle on the skin and yet somehow manages to remove my makeup without any problems. I genuinely don't understand how this product works so well because it has no scent at all and just seems like water.. but its works amazingly.

To keep my face extra clean and spot free I use the Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Pads. Now, I have a love hate relationship with these pads. They work really well and the pads are textured so they exfoliate as you wipe them over your face. However, they are drenched in alcohol. Obviously, the alcohol has other chemicals in that help combat spots but it's so overwhelming that when I wipe them near my mouth or nose I actually struggle to breath. Other than that though they are really good and seem to be working well in addition to the cleansing water.

For my summer moisturiser, I have been using the Boots Shine Control Moisturiser with Tea Tree & Witch Hazel. I love this for many reasons. The first is that it's soo cheap! I think it was about £1.50 or something. Secondly, it's a gel rather than a cream moisturiser which is good for oily skin and is perfect for a hot summers day. And thirdly, a little bit goes a long way. As it's a gel it melts into a liquid as you apply it which means it lasts much longer than cream. Also, it has tea tree which is clinically proven to help reduce spots.

After moisturiser, I apply the Body Shop All in One Primer which leaves my face extremely matte ready for makeup. I don't know how well this works by itself but using this in addition to all the other products I have listed help my skin to look flawless, glowy and shine-free.

For summer lip care, I use the Carmex pot in Original as I get dehydrated really easily in summer and this is the best lip balm I have ever used! I usually apply this before I start my makeup then, once my makeup is done, it has usually absorbed slightly into my lips leaving the perfect base for a bright summer lip colour.

Thank you for reading and I hope I helped if you are looking for some products to add to your summer skincare routine.

Day In My Life!

Halloooo everyone,

Today I thought I would do something a little bit different compared to the beauty/fashion posts that I usually do. I don't know about you but I love reading and watching people talk about their daily, normal, everyday lives. It's just nice to know that all these 'celebrity' bloggers and vloggers are all just normal people and, to be honest, I like to be a little bit nosy! So, I just though I'd take a few snaps today to show you what I get up to on a day to day basis, starting from waking up to snuggling back into bed.

In the mornings I will wake up and more than likely go back to sleep... But after I wake up for the second time I will drag myself into the living room and stick the TV on (usually Futurama then Friends). When the hunger kicks in, I make my way into the kitchen and grab some breakfast. Lately, I have been loving plain porridge with strawberry jam, it's so easy to make which is handy when I'm feeling super lazy.

After breakfast, I continue to watch TV for a while then eventually get ready, which takes me like 2 hours.. Today I just went for a simple outfit with a t-shirt and leggings and a choker. For makeup I just went for my usual winged eye makeup and bright matte coral lips.

When I've finished getting ready I'll head off to work. I'll be at work for like 4/5 hours and then head back out. Today I walked straight home, changed into something a bit lighter (it got really hot towards the evening) and then met my boyf to go and get some dinner. We went to a hungry horse, which tbh wasn't that great....

The Hooch was good though..

Check out Keith's face on the bottle, OOSH

Food wise, we got nachos for starters, I got New York chicken and Jack got a pulled pork burger. I did eat quite a bit and was pretty full which was annoying as I wanted one of their 'Cakeaway' cakes which looked sooooo good :(

After the meal we headed home which was when I realised my room was an absolute tip and needed sorting ASAP! I took a before and after picture just to show you the difference...

It was sooo bad! I know its not the best now anyway but it's much better than before, I mean, I wouldn't have been able to sleep in my own bed!

Moving on, it's time to chill down and to take my make up off I use a combination of the Benefit 'They're Real' make up remover, the Garnier Micellar cleansing water and the Clearisil Rapid Action pads just to make sure my face is extra clean. I finish my night time routine with Boots tea tree & witch hazel shine control moisturiser which leaves my face feeling refreshed and oil free.

To finish off my day, I usually grab a cold drink of some sort ( today it's ice cold water), snuggle up in bed and watch the SacconeJoly's.

So there you have it. A day in my life. Obviously, I don't do the exact same thing everyday but generally this is my typical day.
I did enjoy taking photos of my normal life today but I think my next post will be makeup related, just so I'm back on track.

Thanks for reading todays post and I will post again soon!

Byyee!

Update: Birthdays, Birmingham & New Beauty Buys!

Hello everyone!

I am going to start this post by apologising (once again) for my absence. I know I always use the same excuse that 'there is only one laptop in my house and it's hard to share' but it's true! I'm never really at my house lately either, plus my mum takes the laptop to work everyday so it's almost impossible for me to post atm... I am hoping to be at home a bit more often so hopefully I can post more (though I am taking that with a pinch of salt haha).
Anyway, onto the post*...
*there are no pics in this post unfortunately, check out my previous posts for a better visual experience

The month of June was crazy for me this year, now I know we are almost at the end of July but I really feel like I just need to reflect on some of my June shenanigans with you guys. First off, there was a ridiculous amount of birthdays in June, including my 18th (a very belated happy birthday to all my colleagues and family members who are lucky enough to be June babies!). I was really looking forward to turning 18 as all my friends have early birthdays meaning they're all out partying and I was at home playing Pokémon.. or something just as sad. I did get quite a few presents though (especially mugs..... so many mugs...) and a bit of money too which I am very grateful for. I went out on the night of my birthday to celebrate and also went out that weekend to Birmingham with the boyf, where I went slightly make-up crazy as I bought a few bits from Benefit, Bare Minerals and Bodyshop. My boyfriend also bought me Chanel No.5, I really was spoilt! And, even though we ate loads, we bought an array of macaroons and £20 worth of beef jerky from Selfridges.. oops! But overall, June was a good month and I got lots of things done, though I am sorry I didn't photograph much of it, it would have been really cool to show you as well as tell you.

Okay, moving on to July. The month hasn't ended yet but it's been pretty good so far. I booked a holiday to Paphos for the 1st October with my boyfriend, Jack, which I am really excited for. I have only been on holiday twice in my life so this is like a little treat just for the both of us. I do want to travel more though in future years and I'm going to photograph as much of my journeys as possible just so I can show you what I'm up to and where I've been. Also yesterday I painted a mural on my cousins wall for her little boy's room. It took me 8 hours in total but it turned out pretty good in the end, my cousin was happy with it and that's all that matters, though I was pretty knackered after it (the Mcdonalds towards the end really helped keep me going aha) and I was smothered in paint by the end but it was worth it. On the downside, when I got back me and Jack went to walk his dog and I got bit by a bug on my foot and its ballooned and is really itchy and hurts :(... Is anyone else allergic to bud bites or is it just me?...

So you are now updated with the last couple of months of my life. I am trying to get back on track with blogging now that I have a smaller, more practical camera and a few more things going on in the next couple of months. Expect review after review of beauty products and 'what I've been up to' sort of posts! I hope you aren't too sick of me apologising for not being around but, again, I am sorry. I am determined to stick to this from now on!
Thanks for reading, I WILL update on Thursday,
See you soon!
